Our 2nd science unit is a study of Motion & Design.
We started our unit with a study of Simple Machines.
Ask your child the following questions:
-What's the purpose of a machine?
-What is work? Force? Distance? Balanced & unbalanced forces?
-Name the 6 simple machines & examples of each.
-What is a load?
-How does a fulcrum make a different with lifting a load?
-How can they lift Mrs. Pape with a board and a rock?
Soon, we'll be building "cars" & learning more about the above concepts and add: friction, momentum, velocity. . .
