What We're Up To

Happy February! Here's what we're doing in class...

  • Our Song of the Month is Put a Little Love In Your Heart, and our Composer of the Month is Joseph Haydn. You can learn more about them by choosing Song and Composer of the Month in the sidebar.
  • First and second grade are working on First Steps in music at their level, and we are working on playing ostinatos and steady beats with pitched and unpitched percussion. We are also doing some loud/soft movement activities.
  • Third and fourth graders are in the middle of recorder assessments. After we're done with those, we're going to take a small break from recorder to learn about the instrument families.
  • Fifth graders are learning about sequences, working on a canon in la-minor, and exploring music of the Beatles.
  • Also, all grades will be exploring music of the Civil Rights Movement this month.

Other Information

  • The bookstore is temporarily out of recorders.
