Welcome Back! Here's what we're doing in class...
We're rediscovering our singing voices and reviewing some concepts from last year.
Fourth through sixth graders are learning what it means to be in a choir.
First through third graders are working on a movement activity with Haydn's Surprise Symphony, playing Boowhackers, and experiencing our first song story of the year (either Puff the Magic Dragon or This Land Is Your Land, depending on the class).
Other Information
This year, our students in grades 4-6 will be able to select an area of focus in their Related Arts classes. My focus will be on choir, which means choir rehearsals will get to be during the school day this year! Other focuses will include visual arts, media & technology, band, orchestra, and dance & drama.
After a student picks a focus, he or she will still see the rest of us throughout the school year in nine-week rotations, and students will have a chance to explore a new concentration second semester.
